Response to the Government’s British Energy Security Strategy

The National College for Nuclear (NCfN) welcomes the Government’s recently published British energy security strategy.

As well as underpinning the commitments already published in the ‘Ten point plan for a green industrial revolution’ and the ‘Net zero strategy’, the Energy Security Strategy reinforces the investment that will be made in nuclear energy production to assure a long-term, consistent energy supply.

At NCfN, we have been supporting the nuclear sector to meet its skill and capability requirements through our accredited training and qualification provision. We look forward to meeting future needs of the sector by working with developers and operators of nuclear new build and Small and Advanced Modular Reactors to expand our portfolio and delivery network.

Additionally, we will aim to support the renewables sector where there are similar competency and capability requirements.

We look forward to sharing our expertise and be involved in enabling a skilled workforce for the nuclear sector and the UK.
