Dr Donna Connor (Managing Director)

Donna is currently the Managing Director at the National College for Nuclear & Clean Energy. She has a wide and varied career in nuclear, with over 33 years at Sellafield Limited including Head of Education & Skills, Head of Knowledge Management, Head of Profession (Technical), Business Change Manager (for EHS&Q), Control Systems Manager and Research Scientist.

Donna is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD and has a degree and PhD in Materials Engineering, in addition to professional qualifications in Knowledge Management and IP, Quality and Control Systems.

Donna sits on several national boards, including Nuclear Trailblazer Chair, National Nuclear Provider co-ordinating Body, Nuclear Vocational Education Group and National Energy Skills Consortium. She has recently been appointed to the Skills England Expert Network

Professor Paul Fairclough (Associate – Curriculum Development)

Paul is a Chartered Engineer, Chartered Measurement & Control Technologist and Fellow of the Institute of Measurement and Control with more than three decades’ experience in engineering and higher technical education.

He has held senior responsibility for Higher Education, Engineering, Science and Nuclear provision in Further Education Colleges and Universities.

His specialist interests encompass measurement and control engineering, industrial automation, robotics, nuclear engineering education and the development of higher and degree apprenticeships. His work has particularly focused on integrating academic engineering education with vocational learning and employer requirements
